It has been a challenging year for Tianhe Casting Group. The increase in raw material price, shipping and labour costs and the shadow of Covid-19, has been challenging for us. But Tianhe Casting has made greater improvements in order to cope with the challenge and thrive from it. We are ready to welcome 2022 with our new equipment, new technologies, new product development plan and fewer environmental impacts.
Reflecting the changes on 2021
In 2021, we have replaced 8 out-of-date furnaces with 2 brand new German central furnaces which have greatly decreased the energy waste and labour cost. After introducing 3 automatic casting arms and 3 dosing furnaces, 90% of the manual casting process was replaced by Automatic casting production lines, largely reducing the labour cost, material waste and improving the working environment for workers. Additionally, 1 automatic robot arm was introduced to CNC Division. Further automatic robotic arms will also be implemented in the CNC division in order to reduce labour costs and increase efficiency in 2022.
Looking ahead as 2022 begins
New Technology
In 2022, reducing manufacturing costs is still our main target. In order to lower the cost, we need to continue reducing the unnecessary manufacturing process such as deburring and follow-up cleaning processes for most of our products by introducing new manufacturing technology. We will continue our 5S check, making sure every employee is following the Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize and Sustain method. In addition, we are introducing more new technologies such as testing new mould cooling methods and dry pressure testing and machine visual testing technology to decrease leakage issues in casting and reduce PPM. Lastly, in order to optimise the manufacturing process, making sure work order management, we are considering adopting the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) as part of our plan to enter the Digital Manufacturing stage.
New Product Development Plan
Technical Department has successfully developed more than 40 new products with customers, mainly are aluminium alloy (ZL101, ZL107) air intake pipes, automotive housing and pump body. In 2022, we are considering entering the passenger vehicle safety features field. This will be a test for our engineer and our quality control system in the company but we will be ready for the challenge.
Social Responsibiliy Awareness
As part of society, we have the duty to act in the best interests of our environment and society as a whole. Tianhe Casting Group has devoted itself to reducing our environmental waste such as packaging. For customers that are within 400km distance, we are encouraging our customers to use reusable packagings such as wooden cages or metal cages designed by our technical department or the cooperating shipping company. Reusable packaging will allow us to reduce our carbon footprint by reducing plastic protection packaging, disposable plastic wrap and disposable cardboard boxes.
